THE BASIC OF ULTRAEDGE

HOW ULTRAEDGE IS DISPLAYED

This is where it get’s a little complicated….
The audio data corresponding with the exact moment the frame is captured is always in the middle of the graph.
The left side of the graph shows sound that happened just before the image was taken, whilst the right side shows sound that occurred just after the image was taken.
EXAMPLE HOW TO INTERPRET ULTRAEDGE

THE PERFECT SCENARIO

A TOUGH SCENARIO

KEY TAKEWAYS
Images are captured at 340fps, audio is captured continuously.
The vision and audio is always synchronized.
The position of the ball and ‘spike’ in the image shown matters. If the ball is before the bat, the spike will be on the right, if the ball is past the bat, the spike will be on the left.
The ball hitting the edge will generally be a compact, sharp noise.
