ICC UMPIRE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

1.TRANSCEIVER

2.TRANSCEIVER SETTINGS


SWITCHING TRANSCEIVER ON

  • Depress the ON/OFF Button for 2 seconds.

ADJUSTING VOLUME

  • Turn KEYLOCK off by depressing the OK button for 2 seconds.

  • Adjust Volume by pressing ‘+’ or ‘-’ buttons for the required level. One press per level of Volume.

  • Reapply the KEYLOCK by holding the OK button for 2 seconds.

CHANGING CHANNEL

  • Remove KEYLOCK

  • Hold the MENU button down for 2 seconds.

  • The Menu will open. When Channel is highlighted press OK button.

  • Scroll to the required channel using the‘+’ or‘-’ buttons.

  • Press OK button.

  • Press MENU Button to return to the main screen and reapply the KEYLOCK as above.

3.HEADSETS

CHOOSING A HEADSET IS TOTALLY DOWN TO THE UMPIRES SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS ALL HEADSETS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE KIT FOR YOU TO TRY

IF YOU HAVE USED A SPECIFIC TYPE OF EARPIECE BEFORE, PLEASE LET YOUR TECHNICIAN KNOW AND HE WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR NEEDS


4.INSERTING / REMOVING BATTERY


  • Place the battery as shown in Picture A with the brass connectors facing downwards

  • Push the battery against the internal springs in the direction of the red arrow in A, until the batterylies horizontal.

  • Pull the battery backwards slightly do the battery sits under the ‘lip’ shown in Picture B

  • When removing batteries always make sure the unit is switched OFF.

  • To remove push battery against the internal springs and gently rotate upwards,the battery will then pop out.

5.PUTTING KIT TOGETHER


All connectors are Male to Female. Therefore, nothing can be plugged in the wrong connector.


All connectors are PUSH / PULL. NEVER TWIST


Line up the connectors via the red dots shown in Picture A. Push the connectors together as shown in Picture B.


6.PUTTING KIT TOGETHER

For Push To Talk Operation - Insert your chosen headse tinto the PTT Button

and then insert the cable from the PTT into the Transceiver.


For Open Microphone Operation - Insert your chosen headset directly into the

Transceiver.


NEVER TWIST CONNECTORS


7.POSITIONING OF LAPEL MICROPHONE



Place the Lapel microphone facing upwards towards the mouth.


Make sure the microphone is no more than 8 inches from the mouth.


Do not place the microphone upside down facing away from the mouth.








8.POSITIONING OF BOOM MICROPHONE

The Boom Microphone / Earpiece can

be worn in eitherthe left or the right ear.


Make sure the Boom Microphone follows the contour of your face (as shown).


Make sure the microphone is positioned close to the mouth (as shown).



9.POSITIONING OF THIRD UMPIRES HEADSET

N B. Always place the boom microphone next to your mouth





10.POSITIONING OF TRANSCIEVER



Place the Transceiver in the provided Belt Pouch.


Attach the Belt Pouch to your belt in the preferred position (usually center of the back).


Ensure all wires are tucked neatly away and are not in the way of your pockets or any place where you will need access to.


N.B

On-field Umpires should use Transceivers with Role Settings 2 and 3,

4th Umpire should use Role Setting 4

3rd Umpire should use Role Setting 1 (This is a standard set-up)



11.OPERATING THE PTT BUTTON


1. Attach the PTT (push to talk) Button to

your belt.


2. Depress PTT Button and hold in the

down position.


3. Begin Speaking


4. Finish Speaking


5. Release PTT Button


N.B When your PTT is pressed down all other users will still be able to speak to you. The system is not like a walkie-talkie, you can all speak at the same time.
